Comment and call for a public hearing on the proposed data center in south Little Rock

Public comments are open on the proposed Google data center near Sweet Home. The proposal plans to fill in almost 17 acres of Fourche wetlands and impact another large section of streams. The Arkansas Times summary says the center would draw more than 100 megawatts of power and endangered specials like monarch butterfly populations could be impacted. The site would include buildings that total 1.43 million square feet. These data centers are not healthy for people or wildlife and it’s time to speak out against this proposal on behalf of the residents nearby and the wildlife and wetlands that need to be protected. When you comment, be sure to ask for a public hearing.

Use this link to comment on the proposal and then share this information with a friend. On the left side of the page, filter for Little Rock District, then comment on the Harbor Environmental - Willowbend Capital LLC project name.

Public comments are open until May 1. This data center will take more from us than it gives. If the center is built and abandoned in the future, we will have lost natural resources we cannot easily recover. We especially encourage environmental lawyers, hydrologists, energy analysts or urban planners to leave a comment.
